Biking Trail
The Trail of the Coeur d’Alene is one of the best biking trails in Western America. It goes right along the shore of Lake Chatcolet, so you can get on it from here and enjoy the scenery. The trail is absolutely beautiful with many rest stops along the way, passing by many towns where you can stop and visit if you’ve become tired.
Lake Fun
Down next to the water there is a small docking area with a ramp for those who want to bring their own water vehicles. There is also some shore line where you can enjoy jumping in the water. There are plenty of fishing spots out on the lake and some good catches have been made here. Many people love coming out and having a grand time boating, skiing, Wake boarding, and much more. There are even float cabins in a small area called hidden lake. These cabins are pieces of history that have been around for nealry as long as the park itself. Be mindful of the owners if you Wish to view them though, because they aren't part of the Heyburn State Park, and many of the would like the keep their area calm and peacful.
Camping
There are plenty of camping sites. Some in the middle of the forest, surrounded by beautiful pine trees, and some are along the shore, where you have access to the beautiful lake. There are hiking trails throughout the forest and plenty of Wildlife to watch and learn about. There are picnic areas for a nice lunch break away from camp, with a playground and bathrooms nearby.
